Acne Treatments
Acne is the term for plugged pores, or blackheads and whiteheads, pimples and deeper lumps called cysts or nodules. This common skin condition occurs when bacteria break down the oils in the skin. Irritating substances are produced that activate the body’s immune system to produce inflammation and redness. Acne scarring has traditionally been difficult to treat. New technologies and cosmetic breakthroughs have had successful results in improving the appearance of acne scars. Procedures such as Fractional Laser Resufacing, Microdermabrasion and Vibraderm can smooth unwanted scars with easy, non-surgical treatments that have no downtime.
Botox/Dysport® Cosmetic
Botox/Dysport® Cosmetic is a prescription injection medication that temporarily improves the appearance of mild to moderate wrinkles and frown lines. Botox/Dysport® Cosmetic was the first product of its type to be FDA approved for cosmetic use, and has an established record of experience that is precise and predictable.
Cynosure Smartlipo® Laser Liposuction
Since 2007 Glow aesthetic medicine and Dr. Patrick Carter are proud to be one of the first providers of SmartLipo™ in Southern Colorado and Colorado Springs! He has successfully performed over 1000 procedures and is consider a leader in in-office, out-patience tumescent liposuction. By utilizing the delicate contouring and collagen tightening effects of the SmartLipo Laser with the deeper sculpting VASERLipo ultrasonic device Dr. Carter is able to achieve amazing results.
Fillers
Restylane is an hyaluronic acid-based injectable gel that smoothes your facial wrinkles and creases by adding volume. It is recommended for treating nasolabial folds and other wrinkles around the mouth. It is also used to augment the size of the lips, enhance the appearance of cheekbones and give more mass to the chin, and fill hollows below the eyes. It is an excellent complement to Dysport/Botox Cosmetic injections.
Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing
The CO2 laser is considered the most successful weapon for combating wrinkles, ageing, acne scaring and many other skin imperfections. This is the ideal treatment for facial rejuvenation. The Fractional CO2 Laser helps to reduce lines and wrinkles, to tighten the skin and to promote collagen regeneration, leading to a healthier, younger looking you.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

The laboratory diagnostics we use are extensive and include blood, urine, and saliva testing depending on medical history. In addition to traditional hormone testing, we look at hormone precursors, vitamins and minerals that affect hormones, as well as Vitamin D3 which is actually a hormone itself!
Intense Pulsed Light
Intense Pulsed Light Treatment is a fantastic method of reducing the sun’s damaging effects on the skin, which often results in unsightly pigmented spots on the skin and for some visible age spots. This treatment includes the use of hand piece that delivers high intensity pulses of broadband light that is different from the narrow band light of lasers. IPL, which stands for intensed pulsed light, is non-ablative meaning that is does not damage the surface of the skin. The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched. Our IPL treatment targets pigmented lesions such as melasma and age spots. The thermal effect of IPL also causes production of new collagen, leading to improvement of skin quality and less wrinkles.
Laser Hair Removal
At glow Aesthetic Medicine, laser hair removal treatments are done in packages to insure the treatment of the hair in its active growth cycle. Often 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. These sessions are done approximately 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area of the body being treated and on your skin and hair type. Specific recommendations appropriate for your skin type and your particular needs are made for you at the time of your consultation.

I can not recommend this spa for Miradry treatments. I got a Miradry treatment here last year. Immediately after the treatment I was completely dry, no sweat whatsoever for a couple weeks. Then it started to return and 1 year later I have about 50% decrease overall in underarm sweat. I know this is normal and I was told that some people need 2 treatments. I returned and paid $1000 for a second treatment. This time it was done by a different person (Irma) and she seemed very unsure and inexperienced. It was extremely painful this time. She used a lower energy setting and treated a smaller area. (which doesn’t make sense because harder to treat sweat glands would obviously need higher energy) This time I experienced no improvement in sweat whatsoever, and was sweating again the very next day which indicates the procedure was not done correctly. I called to discuss this and my call was ignored. Weeks later, after more calls, I was told to come in to follow up with Dr Carter. He did a sweat test to confirm there was, in fact, no improvement in sweat. He then made excuses and talked in circles giving me no real solution other than to pay another thousand dollars for a 3rd treatment. He said he would try to figure out a better option and called me, but I never heard from him again. Over $3000 spent at this spa. No attempt to make it right. If you’re unsatisfied, you’ll be ignored. Go elsewhere for Miradry.

I have been coming here for several years and my experience has always been great!!. This time my appointment was with Irma, my first with her and first time using the Restylane line of product. Irma’s presentation coupled with her knowledge and expertise, was helpful in explaining the treatment and my options. I felt comfortable throughout our appointment. Irma, is FABULOUS!!!!
