I saw Shannon and was thrilled with my new shorter cut. I normally go to International Hair (or whatever it is called at Stanford mall) and go cheap. I wanted a change and not a mom-bob so I made a random appointment online with Shannon. She asked what I wanted, then told me what she thought would look good given my very oval-shaped face. She was professional, friendly, and gave me styling and product tips – much much appreciated since I have been doing ponytails for way too long. I will be back for sure!

The salon itself is nice and it’s a good location. The hairdresser was very nice. The only thing I didn’t like was that I paid over $200 for my perm but my hair didn’t take. Later other hairdressers told me that my hair is too long and too heavy and that it won’t work and they wouldn’t recommend it. It just damages the hair. @ Edge they said it will work! But it didn’t! They could be more honest with their customers! My hair is still completely straight!

I’ve been getting my haircut here for 1.5 years by Sarah. I am very particular about my hair. I wear it short and it’s not an easy cut. I lived in LA (don’t hold that against me) and went to several top salons. Most recently Juan Juan Salon in Brentwood. They did a good job and have very good stylists. But Sarah is above and beyond the best I’ve had.

I’ve been a customer for 6+ years and love going to Edge.Quang Le is my stylist, and does a great job taking care of my highlights. The rest of the team are very well trained, and up to date on the latest techniques. It’s pricey, but well worth the money.

Shoji Toyama is the best hair dresser EVER! I started going to him back in 2008 when he was a stylist renting a station in another shop. Shoji bought Edge Hair Salon shortly thereafter and proceeded to turn it into a leading edge salon. His turnover is minimal because he is a great promoter, which his employees appreciate.

Got haircuts from Shoji for all of the 5 years I studied at Stanford. Expertly handles even tricky Asian hairs like mine. When I returned to Korea for a break and got a haircut there, the Korean hair designer complimented the haircut I got from Shoji and said only someone with great skills and many years of experience can perform a haircut like that. Highly recommended.

The haircut experience at Edge is one of the best in the area. The stylists are friendly and get to know you. The haircuts are great too. I showed the stylist a picture of a previous haircut I liked, and she matched it better than any other stylist I’ve had.

I grow my hair out to donate it to different cancer associations so when I get my hair cut, I want it to be a great and stylish cut since I won’t be cutting it again for a bit and I want it to be a cut that grows back nicely with not much effort. I don’t want a difficult cut! I was in Kyoto and although it was getting to the length to donate it, I thought- while in Japan, why not go and get a cut because Japanese hair stylists are known to be the best. I found a place after doing some shopping and having some real ramen and was so lucky to have found a place that was still open. I had two stylists working on my hair and my mom was watching the technique that they used to cut my hair and it made her want to give it a try. I have very thick hair and they worked on doing such an awesome job in doing an undercut that it was amazing! I had been to Yosh across the street and also to their Maiden Lane in San Francisco location and tried out Juut but it wasn’t for me. I’m so glad that I had walked past Edge Salon so many times before that I thought I would give it a chance and I will never go to another salon. They cut my hair exactly how I described it. It was easy to maintain and grow out. I like the salon because it is clean. They have that cool vacuum cleaner that sucks all the hair up so I noticed that the floors are always clean. The staff was also very nice asking me if I wanted anything and I got these cute square Japanese candy on the way out! Can’t wait to cut it again- it’s almost long enough to donate and I’ve got the style that I want chosen and I already know that I will get that cut cause they do such a great job and I trust them!!!

Shannon listens to your vision and explains what will work best based on your hair type, face shape, etc. Then she executes the cut flawlessly, taking time to get it perfect. So happy to have found Shannon at Edge for my short bob.
