I was excited for my first dry bar experience, but after this I will not go back. While my stylist was very nice, I explicitly asked for loose, tousled curls and showed the stylist a picture. When she finished styling my hair, she instructed me that the curls would be tight for a few hours and I should comb my fingers through the curls in a few hours to achieve the loose curl look I wanted. I did that but unfortunately the curls never loosened up. I had a big event that evening and while it sounds trivial I felt super self conscience about my hair the whole night because I didn’t like the style and pictures confirmed I should have styled my own hair. All in all, really disappointing, particularly considering I spent $60 for hair I didn’t feel good about it.

Not sure why all of the low ratings? Fantastic experience for all 4 of us that went (ages 30s – 70s; all from out of town) the morning of my sister’s bridal brunch with hopes our hair would be great for the rehearsal/ rehearsal dinner. Great experience! Communicative staff throughout the process! This included the day before when they learned that one of our appointments would be running 15 minutes behind due to a staff member that called out.

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityThe worst service ever! My stylist never introduced herself, she was not friendly at all, she complained the whole time. The minute I got there I showed her a picture of what I wanted done for my wedding day, which was a simple half updo. But she said she didn’t do that and that they were short staffed and that I should’ve booked more time. It was not my fault that when I called to make an appointment that the call center indicated a blow out and braid. She then proceeded to wash my hair and didn’t even test the water , she began to wash my hair with scolding hot water, until I jolted and said the water was way too hot. Then she kept complaining that she had to keep reusing gloves because there was no way her nails were going to be shampooing peoples hair and that she would rather walk out of the job then get her nails wet. The cherry on top of it all is that she kept dropping accessories like clips and bobbi pins and still using them on my hair. I endured all of this horrible customer service, in belief that at least my hair would’ve turned out great for my wedding. Turns out it was the worst hair do and money not well spent. I was still generous and gave her a tip but I would never come back nor recommend drybar in Tyson’s corner to anybody.Services: Hairstyling, BraidsThe worst service ever! Very happy with the service at this location. Every stylist I’ve seen so far have listened well and styled exactly how I wanted. Location is convenient with easy parking. Same day appointments are tough to get, but I’ve easily scheduled next day appointments (with the exception of holidays – plan your appointment somewhat earlier).

We set up a blowout appointment 4 months in advance of Prom day for a 12:45 appointment. My daughter showed up for the appointment on time to find out her stylist either had car trouble or was in an accident. Ironically, a friend of my daughter’s was there and had an appointment at noon and was told they were running 15 minutes behind but didn’t get called until 1:00. So it’s unclear if the stylist having issues with her car was the problem. I’m reasonable enough to understand that a car accident is a traumatic event, however this isn’t the first time that Drybar has failed to keep up with appointments. They do a decent job but nothing that can’t be done at another salon. Too, it would have been nice to be forewarned they weren’t meeting their appointment times (for whatever reason) and let us make a decision to wait or go forward before showing up. It’s a surprise that on a Saturday (and Prom day) that there is no backup plan if one stylist doesn’t show. We ended up doing my daughter’s hair at home. Needless to say, if you have a really important event, I definitely recommend finding a new place because you may or may not get the service you planned on or needed.

This was my first time here and I came in for beach waves on my birthday. The lady that did my hair was rude, she didn’t introduce herself, she didn’t speak, she gave me super tight curls. I added 2 braids and the braids were messed up and she took 15 minutes and seemed like she put zero effort into doing my hair. I paid 60$ for a hair style that I could’ve 100% done better myself. All that money down the drain for an experience I was looking forward to.

Drybar gave me a fantastic updo! The stylist was nice and extremely efficient. I’m subtracting 1 star because my appointment started late and ended later than the 45 minute window. Glad I booked an earlier time. My suggestion would also be to book earlier than you think you need. The salon also ran out of alcohol, so no champagne while hair was getting done.

Walked in the receptionist and Julie was at the desk said nothing to me for 5 min and Amber was sitting there too with no one in line and did not even acknowledge me. She basically ignored me. Finally Julie ask me what time was my my appointment and i said it was at 9am. I waited for almost 20 min when other people came in after me and got service. When i asked Julie she said you just wait for someone to be done. I said i wish you would have told me that the available stylist would not do my hair on time and she said ‘oh well’. I’m not sure if they did not want to do my hair because of my race but it was off putting and felt like it was totally rude. Finally one of the other stylists finished at 9:30 and did my hair. Sara did a wonderful job and apologized for having me waiting.

Critical: Punctuality, QualityI made an appointment to get my hair done for a friend’s wedding. I waited 2 hours past my appointment time before someone even started on my hair. I really wanted to love my hair afterwards but I was so disappointed, I could have saved the money and done a better job myself!
