I used to get my hair cut here all the time, but i found a new barber closer to home and hadn’t been here in probably a year. When my barber was unexpectedly closed one Saturday, I went back to this place for a simple cut and it has gone way down hill since I was last there. The lady that did my cut seemed in a rush, even though there were zero waiters, she was really rough with the clippers, appeared to be more concerned with how her own hair looked, and just did a poor job. The shop itself is poorly kept these days, a couple of the stations were completely empty which i took as a sign that it’s not a desirable place to be. The chairs appear to be in disrepair(missing foot pads, broken casters, torn upholstery), and the staff seems to just not care(this was indicated by 2 of them walking in way past their opening time). Overall, I would rather try cutting my own hair with a dull pair of scissors than return to the Coachlight Barber Lounge.

I told her I liked my tail but cut half of it -it was about 5″-she cut to 0″ I said I like hair on sides-leave at least half-it was over 4″ long on sides she cut to 1/2″ . absolutely terrible Hair shape up

Took my six year old daughter here with the intent of getting both of us haircuts. There were no customers when we entered and the two employees looked annoyed that we were there. Maybe interrupted their gossiping, idk. This dish-water blonde, stuck in the 80’s trailer park-looking woman helped us. I showed her that my daughter wanted her hair to be just below her shoulder, and asked that it be layered. I did not see this woman try to engage my daughter once. She’s six. She’s had haircuts. She listens. Yet this woman didn’t speak to her. Let her sit there with her head bowed. As a result, her hair ended up about two inches above her shoulder. As for the layering, the kid looks like she has a rag mop on her head. Meanwhile, after my daughter was in the chair, a black haired woman asks if that’s the only cut we’re getting. I responded, unless you’d like to do a flat top. She said ‘Nope. I don’t do those’. What? Whatever. She’s needs to go to barber college. And the other one needs to get a personality that will allow her to interact with clients that aren’t 60 year old men that she hopes will be her sugar daddy.

My mother & I take my 2 oldest sons to get their hair cut here & we love it! They’re 5 & 2 years old, they’ve always gotten their hair cut with these ladies. They do so well with their hair, make the boys feel safe & happy & even give out toys at the end, which makes the kiddos sit still for 5 minutes, haha. Great place to get your kids’ hair cut! Especially for the first few times

I’ve been going here for quite some time and try to get my hair cut by Robin, she’s good at it and takes proper required time to get it done correct. She’s friendly and has a very sweet and unique laugh too. Other staff members are also good natured.

Critical: ProfessionalismAsking me personal health questions about whether or not I’m vaccinated is not a place I will continue to do business. I’ve been a loyal customer at Coach Light for nearly 30 years. The drilling I got from the beautician, about her personal opinion of unvaccinated people, was absurd. The store policy to walk into Meijer is “no mask if vaccinated”. So if I’m not wearing a mask, that should be enough for them. To ask me is to accuse me of being dishonest and to try to educate me is offensive. I don’t have to answer your inquiry about my vaccination. I would think that was obvious since I’m maskless. I don’t care about your opinion on the matter. I’m there to get my haircut. There are things you should ask and things you shouldn’t. Making accusations toward a customer while preparing to take scissors to their head is not a situation I’ll allow myself, nor would anyone else, to be put in. I have lodge a complaint with Meijer and the owner. Claim to do kids haircuts but refused to cut my sons hair because he didn’t sit perfectly still. She straight up said “nope I won’t cut it if he can’t sit still” never had a problem here before but seems nobody wants to do their job!
