I worried that replacing Carmine would be a challenge. How pleased I have been to find Caesar at the front chair, and Toni and Mike at the next chairs. They each are upbeat, efficient and very talented. As an 80 year-old I am pretty demanding. Regardless of which chair, I always walk away satisfied that they each accommodate my old-school tastes. And their rates are more than reasonable.

Just moved to the area during covid from lower Manhattan. Came across this place by accident and couldn’t be happier. Came to find out it was a staple with an old school barber for whom the shop is named. Loved the history behind it and sorry I missed my chance to grab a cut from the old man. Anyhoo, I’ve been seeing Mike for 2 months or so and I must say his haircuts are on par with any of the top shops in the city. The same goes for the atmosphere. It is very inviting and comfortable. You can tell Mike’s girl (who also gives a phenomenal haircut) has been adding her artistic touch to the place. The high end bar cart was definitely a nice touch. I’m in my 30s but this is a place I feel you could enjoy whether you’re 80 years old or 8 years old. A+ everything, most importantly the haircut. Very happy to have found this gem right in Bloomfield. 10/10 would recommend.

I went to Carmine for years. A little pricy, so for two years I tried to and did visit all barbershops in Bloomfield. I couldn’t find a good fit. I’m back at Carmine’s. Still a little pricy but a better haircut and a relaxed atmosphere. Kind of like visiting our favorite uncle

Good hair cut but WAY too expensive. $25 for a cut without gel, hairspray and a shave. You can get the same cut almost anywhere else for $18 or less. Will not be going back.
