It took a while to schedule my first appointment, but it was worth the wait.She’s a curly girl herself and is very personable and knowledgeable about curls. She educates you on curly hair, explains the techniques she uses & how to take care of your curls at home, and tries different curl products herself to make recommendations and share with you what would work for your hair but doesn’t push any particular product or service. In the curls class she offers, she goes into more detail about the curl world, has a client demonstration where you can see the techniques in action, answers any questions you have, and sends you home with a few free samples. I enjoyed having that opportunity, so I highly recommend taking the class when it’s available.She recently moved to a new location, and the new salon is more spacious, comfortable, and welcoming, not intimidating at all like some salons can be. She is also very responsive to emails, messages, and texts, which I appreciate when you have an emergency or need to reschedule or just have a quick question. I had just moved to the area and was fortunate to have found Laurie Cain as my curl specialist. It took a while to schedule my first appointment, but it was worth the wait.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueIf you’ve ever been afraid to trust someone with your curls, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I’m 30 years old and have had decades of terrible experiences at hair salons, but those days are over for me. Laurie is an absolute GEM. She knows her stuff and she will sit with you for as long as you need to explain and talk through your hair goals. We talked for an hour before even starting any cutting, washing, or styling. I felt so confident and involved throughout the entire process because Laurie takes the time to explain everything she is doing and makes sure you are on the same page at all times. She is extremely knowledgeable on all things curl related, she is great at what she does, and she takes the time to make sure you learn these techniques too, so you can take care of your curls at home. As someone that has been scarred by going to the hair salon, getting bad cuts and butchered curls, and leaving feeling like no one will ever be able to handle the hair on my head, I walked into my appointment with so much fear. But Laurie took the time to hear out my concerns and my goals for my hair, and proceeded to walk me through it all. By the end of my appointment, my hair looked better than it’s ever looked, and I confidently walked out of that salon with so much knowledge and understanding of my hair going forward. Laurie is the only person on this planet that I trust with my curls. She made me feel so comfortable! She gave me a wealth of information and tips, lots of samples to try and a really, really great haircut! My hair loves the new cut and so do I! Laurie was awesome! She spent tons of time before the cut chatting with me about my hair, my routine and any issues I was having. She made me feel so comfortable! She gave me a wealth of information and tips, lots of samples to try and a really, really great haircut! My hair loves the new cut and so do I! I will definitely be back! I leave every appointment feeling more confident than before as well as more knowledgeable about how to take care of my hair. She sure knows her stuff and really wants to make sure that you leave knowing more than you did coming in. It makes for a great experience both in and out of the salon. I will never choose to go to anyone else with my hair.

Laurie started out with a thorough and hands-on consultation on curly girl tips and is a great listener with lots of insight into my curly girl concerns and questions. I love her philosophy of doing what works for you, and she offers simple solutions to some of curly girls’ biggest struggles (clean scalp, refresh, and drying!).
