Salon owners Gari James Cuevas and Christopher Gaither began their careers more than two decades ago on Maiden Lane, working for which were at the time, the two largest & Best Hair salons in San Francisco: Sherlee Rhine’s 77 Maiden Lane Salon and Joseph Cozza Salon.

Gari and the team are the absolute best and deliver the “works” every time. Gari’s balayage are magical and his skills plus creativity brings the spice that this town needs. Bianca’s makeup styling has transformed me for events large and small, including ones where I’ve had to be on stage. I’ve had haircuts and/or blowouts with Chris, Mari, and Gabriel – they each bring their own pizazz and can’t go wrong with any of the team. During COVID-19 shelter in place, Gari handcrafted custom hair color kits complete with handwritten notes. I was in awe watching on IG his process for revamping the studio (so spacious and thoughtful on the flow). I’m so excited to be back.

Archer Salon is a cute and trendy salon in the heart of San Francisco with excellent customer service, but what keeps me going back is COCO ALEXANDER!! He is such a talented hairstylist and he consistently brings my hair to life. I have pretty thin hair and usually don’t style it, so when Coco is finished with it, it really does feel like I am a whole new person. I usually ask him for suggestions of what to do with my hair and what style I should cut it and he is always spot on – I now just let him run with whatever he thinks looks best! Not only is he incredibly talented, but he is such a personable and friendly person as well. Very nice to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable 🙂 Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with him – definitely will be coming back to Archer for Coco!!

Chris Gaither has been cutting my hair for about 15 years. I’ve lived in SF for longer than that and I tried several other stylists before finding Chris. He’s the best. He cuts my hair perfectly each time, with great attention to detail. Friends and random people comment on how good my haircut looks, and I tell them to make an appointment with Chris. In addition to having great skills as a stylist, Chris is a very nice guy. No attitude. He’s happy to engage in intelligent conversation with you or leave you to your quiet thoughts if that’s what you prefer. Archer Salon itself is great, clean, convenient, with friendly staff. An all around good experience!

Archer Salon is amazing! I moved to San Francisco recently from Los Angeles – and as we all know it’s difficult finding new hair dressers after you’ve had the same one for years!! I have been coming to Archer for a near 6 months now and I love it!! Very conveniently located in union square, they’re very organized, on time and clean. Greeting you first thing with tea or coffee (which is exactly what I need on those early mornings). Joann does my color & Coco does my haircuts as well as stylings, they’re hands down the best! Both versatile in what they do and tremendously talented leaving you feeling flawless and ready to take on the world with your fresh look. So happy I found this salon! I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a helping hand in the hair department. ♀️ ♀️

I’m very particular about my hair and will wait (sometimes a very long time) to get my hair cut until I find a stylist that understands what I want and has the skill and expertise to provide feedback and bring my vision into reality. Coco Alexander is beyond talented when it comes to hair. He will work with you to make sure your new look is everything you want. He’s ambitious but cautious depending on how daring and bold you want to go! I’m very happy to have hired him for my special day to style my bridesmaids and myself on my wedding later this year!! Coco Alexander has been cutting my hair for some time now and my experience has always been fun, interesting and of course I leave with the coolest hair. I absolutely love getting my hair cut. My favorite thing about seeing Coco is I’ve rarely given him much direction on what to do and what I want. I’m a fan of his eclectic Instagram page and I went to see him knowing he would create something special just for me, and he does every time. I love the cuts I get because they fit me but still push me forward in style that I may not have done or asked for on my own. My mom is now a client of his and I was very impressed with the look he created for her. She looks so Beautiful! Thanks Coco for your excellent technique, style and service… it’s an awesome experience.
