I’ve used 5 star in the past but lately they have been getting very sloppy and careless with their work. Twice now I’ve gone and have left less than satisfied. I paid because a service was rendered but the quality of their work has gone down hill. The man working on my nails today did not pay attention to what he was doing and my nails look very chunky and ugly. They look like a child did them. I rarely leave bad reviews but I’m so disappointed in this salon. I asked the price immediately upon walking in… however (and this is not the 1st time), they make up things to charge you for and added an extra $10 onto my original quote. I asked why and he literally hesitated for about 2-3 seconds then said “ohhh… I did you give you a different price didn’t I?” I said “Yes you certainly did.” Then he goes, “oh right, well we had to charge more for the acrylic overlay on one of the nails.” First of all, he didn’t HAVE to do acrylic overlay on any of my nails.. he popped my acrylic nail off by using a different nail.. and once he popped it off, he then added acrylic to it so that was considered the acrylic overlay on my natural nail. I DIDN’T ASK HIM TO DO THAT! And why was it an extra $10 for it anyway??! I felt like he just didn’t want to honor the price he originally told me and that price was only to get me to sit down in the chair. Smh I hate these money-hungry salons because you do NOT get what you pay for. Not to mention, he burned me on 3 of fingers with that you electric filer! When I would shriek and jump, he would never even apologize! He just said “two more….. okay just one more”. Sir, I should NOT be in this much pain! Anywho… 5-star Nails is definitely more of a 1-star place.

Been going for bout a year now and usually a good experience, Today a different guy was doing my nails and he was rushing like he had somewhere to be.. Then noticed it was him trying to get back to his phone since he whipped it out between drying my nails. While doing my nails (rushing) he was filing and drilling more of my fingers than my nails. Nails turned out just OK but my fingers are still burning .

I asked for a simple swirl design and it wasn’t turning out good so I just asked for white polish instead. It this one particular pedicurist, the first time she was abnormally rough with me. I am paying for services that I am not receiving, 40 dollars for a hot stone massage, twice that has never touched my feet. Twice it’s the same pedicurist, the second time out of desperation I allowed her to do my pedicure. She used the clay mask, lotion and oil in one step, never touched my feet once with the stone, nor did I receive a massage. I feel unvalued as a customer. And simply would like the services I pay for..
