This is an old school barbershop atmosphere with new school cuts. We offer classic cuts, beard shaping, and the past time a hot towel straight razor shave. Every haircut comes with a hot towel and wash. Important: Our hours are posted however there are situations that can cause us to have to close our door early to make sure we serve our clients in a timely manner. If your trying to get in during the last hour of operation it is highly recommended to call and see if we are at full capacity. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you in the shop

Perfect old school downtown location. Parking is one way so you need to be coming from the right direction to park or walk across the street. We went on a week night afternoon and the downtown area was busy.

What a great place. Great atmosphere in historic downtown Royse City. Never a rush job, these folks are hair artists and the finished product is proof. Haven’t seen a barbershop like this in a very long time. They don’t take reservations and they do accept cash or credit. Be sure to make the trip to this place, it’ll be worth it.

I have lived in Royse city for almost 6 years this was the first time to use 1885 because I heard they are too busy or too expensive. I wanted to give Cris Martinez a HUGE shout out!!! I have never had a straight razer shave before. Everything was perfect in my opinion. I will defiantly return!!! Money well spent!!! Price was just right!!! Ignore everything people say, set your appointment and try them out!!!

Friendly people and they do an awesome job, except couple times they messed up on my son’s hair it was choppy. The wait and appointment system is ridiculous. There is never a time for a haircut on schedule and on Saturday’s I’ve waited 3 hours. Who wants to waist their Saturday waiting for a haircut.

As a barber myself, there’s a few things i look for in a shop. Every time i try to come by the sign says closed, the cut was okay, but the razor work was terrible as he dry shaved me, ouch. I don’t remember the barbers name, but it wasn’t Mike (the owner) it’s a old school traditional shop, with exposed brick from the original building i’m assuming built around the late 1800s so that part is really cool. you can tell this building has seen some things and heard some old conversations. I’ve only been able to come by once as my schedule doesn’t line up with the shop schedule, but if i were you i’d try and book with Mike. He was doing a Derma-plane on a young lady and seemed like he really knew what he was doing. the barber i got, not so much. The dry shave ruined it for me, and never being able to get an appt took that other star. Otherwise it’s a cool spot.
