I usually love this place. Was a loyal customer. I went in today, like 20 minutes ago is when I left and from the moment I walked in the vibe was off. Idk if they didn’t recognize me bc I had a mask on and had lashes(wanted to try something new) but the micro aggressive attitude was off the charts. I wanted a mani pedi — acrylics for the nails. The sister made a hassle out of asking what service I wanted and when it was cleared up she mumbled under her breath in her native language. Immediately didn’t want to be there anymore but I still went ahead bc self care yk. I told her I wanted light blue and she could freestyle. Instead asked me to pick a color (no biggie) and said “you have a design?” I said I wanted the freestyle so I didn’t. After picking the color I thought was a light blue she started on my nails while I looked for the design. I’ll put a picture of what I picked. Atp I retreated into myself bc I know the stigma with black women at nail salons. I started watching a show(on mute btw) and when I looked up my nails looked like this. Usually they ask if the shade from the jar matched what you want. While she was applying the pink color I asked her if she could make the arch smaller bc I don’t like the bulky look. She got offended and chuckled and said “I’m not done yet”. Like ok sis I was just telling you. They look like cotton candy, not at all the cute dainty look I was going for. You’d think for my skin color she’d use a more translucent pink for the design nails. I’m disappointed with this service. I told her to just put a clear coat and I skipped out on getting the pedicure and paid and left. When she told the older gentleman that I didn’t want the pedicure you could tell he was upset. And for what? They all knew what was going on. I feel sad for them, stereotyping people is NEVER okay.

I have been going to 1 Pro Nails for over a year and this is the only nail salon I will go to in DFW! Bao and Lily are amazing! Bao does my nails and they always come out perfect and exactly how I want them and Lily is the only person I trust when it comes to my pedicures. She gives the best pedicures. They both take their time and are perfectionist.
