The hairdressers show a level of professionalism and thoughtfulness way beyond the price they charge. I make a special trip here to get my hair cut. The hairdresser was very thorough and considerate with styling my hair, he was very skilled and knowledgable about what would look good. While I was in the salon, I watched many others receive the same kind of attention. The prices for cut only is around $7-8. They speak a little English and had a lot of satisfied non-Chinese customers, so don’t be reluctant about walking in. Make sure it’s the shop with pictures of Justin Timberlake and Ang Lee on their front window.

Positive: ValueI’m a teenage girl and I just got my haircut today at this place. The boss cut my hair and she was really nice and took her time with it. My hair came out really nice, my mom loves it too. She charged me $15 cause I do have really long hair and I just tipped her $6. Highly recommended!!!Service: Haircut

Cheap hair cut. The style of cutting seem very old fashioned. Unfortunately, it was difficult to communicate with the one who cut my hair so I couldn’t get him to cut it the way I wanted.

Positive: Quality, ValueI’ve been going here for 10 years now. Prices are cheap and quality is great. For women’s long hair, it’s about $12-15 dollars. Remember to tip! I’ve never had a bad experience and they’ve always been really nice and professional. I would bring a picture, since there’s a language barrier.

Standard “value-for-money” barber shop. They’ve done a great job in the last 3 years that I’ve been going there. I’ve been to barber shops in Midtown East, Upper Westside, Park Slope and Prospect Park South. None of them have done a better job than this place and can’t possibly beat Yi Fa’s rates.

Who doesn’t want a nice and cheap haircut? They really did a thorough job giving my husband a hair trim. The process took about 20 minutes (cut only) but cost only $7. If you don’t speak Chinese, you can simply show the hairdresser a photo of your ideal hairstyle and he will make it happen. Highly recommend!

I’ve been getting my haircut here for over a decade now with the same barber. Prices are low (around $11-13 for a simple cut and wash) and it’s generally pretty quick for a cut. Might be a wait on weekends if you’re waiting for a specific barber. English is limited depending on who’s working that day – it may help if you have a photo to point to for hairstyle – but they can get some simple specifications in English. They have someone speaking just about every dialect of Chinese also. CASH ONLY! Look for the orange awning with a wooden chair outside.
