Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has been used since the 1940s to combat the symptoms of menopause-hot flashes, low libido, weight gain, mood swings, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. Traditional HRT combines hormones from the urine of pregnant horses with other synthetic chemicals, to replace the hormones that we lose as we age.In recent decades, many women and some men have chosen to go with Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT), rather than supplementing with animal-derived hormones. BHRT was actually used in the 1930s prior to HRT but was supplanted by equine hormones because they were easier to extract.Contemporary bioidentical hormones are plant-sourced and bioidentical to the hormones that our own bodies make. How does it work?Botox is the most common cosmetic procedure in the U.S. While you may have heard of Botox, you may not know exactly how it works.Botox is a nerve-blocker derived from onabotulinumtoxinA that has been used for over three decades to relax facial muscles. It is injected directly into the facial muscles that tense up and cause deep wrinkles, such as the forehead and eyebrow furrows (often called worry and frown lines) or crow’s feet. Botox blocks the nerve signals that cause these wrinkles, allowing them to relax and smooth out.What is the procedure like?Botox only takes about 20 minutes, and is administered through tiny injections. The needles are so small that you experience very little pain. When used well, Juvederm can plump hollows (particularly under cheek and eye-bones), lift eyebrows and even correct old liposuction defects or concave scars. Think of it as plastic surgery lite, without the invasive scalpel and long recovery period.What are my options?There are several different types of Juvederm products, each manufactured with different-sized molecules to address specific concerns.Voluma is the thickest, firmest version of Juvederm. It is often used to contour cheeks and can last up to two years with full correction.Ultra Plus uses fairly large particles, which means it works well for deep wrinkles and areas with thicker skin. The owner, Diane, did my Dysport injections and was extremely thorough. She took before pictures, mapped out my face, asked medical history, and was so gentle when injecting. I have lived with chronic pain for years after a diagnosis of Lyme disease from a deer tick. I have seen more doctors and more specialists than I can count (both in state and out of state) and been on more medication‘s than I could ever name. Today I visited Bella Lei and was administered 250 mg of NAD through an IV. About halfway through the treatment I started feeling gentle pops throughout my brain, eyes, sinuses, ears, and neck as pressure began to release from my head and muscles. By the end of my treatment I felt like I had literally been touched by Jesus . My results from this injection were nothing short of miraculous. I came home after my treatment and for the first time in seven years was able to lean over my bathroom sink and brush my teeth without pain, bend over to scoop my dogs food into their bowls with no pain, lean over my nightstand to take my midday medication’s with no. pain. I ate my first meal in weeks with no discomfort in my abdomen.
