I really enjoyed going to The Groom Room in Ames while attending college at Iowa State University. If you’re looking for a great haircut and/or beard trim in a clean, professional, and friendly environment with a modern barbershop vibe, then look no further. Troy always did an excellent job, and he’s always striving to perfect his craft. In addition to being an exceptional barber, Troy is also a real class act and a stand-up guy. The Groom Room also has a great selection of men’s grooming, beard care, and hair care products. I can’t recommend Troy and The Groom Room highly enough. Be sure to book your next appointment while you’re there, as their schedule fills up quickly. And if you’re ever in need of a movie recommendation or review, Troy can do that too.

Worst experience ever with Brooke Hauswirth! She was unprofessional and super rude. I was there at the time of appointment but I could not find the hair stylist at that time. I got a phone call and I went outside to pickup the phone and after talking to my mom for like 5 mins I went back and she was like I am sorry I could not take you in because of late arrival. I booked the appointment two week before showing up and the response I got that you have to reschedule the appointment and the latest day we have is two weeks from now. That doesn’t make sense. She could have shown some sense of empathy and compassion and hear my point of view instead of ignoring me. I would recommend not to waste your money and time.

First time going to a “real” barbershop. It was a fantastic experience. It was a very clean and professional area, and it was extremely comfortable with a great atmosphere. John was great and did exactly what I wanted and made my hair look even better than I was expecting!
