Nichol is AMAZING! Shes a Very nice down to earth small buissness owner (owner of Skye Salon)!! Upon sitting the the chair, she goes over what we have planned for the appointment, asks you what you would like, your ideas and if your unsure she gives you her PROFESSIONAL opinion to help. she has 21 years experience, is sassoon trained, and always stays on top of the latest trends, and techniques! You deffinatley get what you pay for, I have NEVER left her chair dissatisfied!!!

Nicole and her mom came to do a bridal party’s hair. It took them 1.5 hours to curl my hair. They used the clip kind of curler and she would spray hairspray before curling and let it sit forever and my curl didn’t stay anyways.. (I never have a problem keeping my hair curled) My hair still smells burnt three days later. They never used heat protectant spray or any real product besides hairspray and some tease powder. They couldn’t complete my simple hair style. The mom was nice and personable but the daughter was rude and cold shouldered most of the time. $55 for the worst service. Never again. Side note: I never complain and I have never written a bad review. But I felt so disappointed by this I had to.

I can’t say enough great things about Nicol. She takes her time she is precise and detailed. She is kind and has a great heart. She listens to what you want out of a hairstyle. She takes the time to get to know you and understand what would work well with your lifestyle. I once thought that I understood haircuts better than her, and she did what I asked and 3 days later I came back and asked her to fix it, she did no questions asked. She takes so much pride in her work and I always love my hair when she is done with it. She doesn’t give me a style that I can’t manage myself. She cuts it and colors it, and styles it at a price that is unbelievably reasonable. If you’re looking for a haircut with a stylist that would never let you down see Nicol

This 1 star review isn’t for services because I didn’t make it to my appointment. On the morning of my appointment, I woke up with a tummy bug and wasn’t able to go to my appointment. I called and left a message as soon as I realized the issue wasn’t going to pass on time for me to make my appointment. My appointment was to get highlights. Nichol charged me the entire cost of highlights for my missed appointment…$70. Sure wish I was only planning a cut…would have saved myself some money.☹ Definitely take into account the cancellation policy and do not get sick, or if you do, go to your appointment anyway, if at all possible. Won’t matter if your contagious, you won’t forfeit your $$$.

Nichol provided good service. Juggled walk-ins around my appointment and added services I thought of last minute. My nails (mani and pedi) are still beautiful a week later. The wax that was done was good. My hair was washed and cut to my satisfaction.

Do NOT reccomend for wedding. Scheduled the appointment back in March for my 6 bridesmaids. They were understaffed and underqualified. One fried my sister in law’s hair and one couldn’t figure out how to complete a simple hairstyle. My sister left without paying, since they told her to go sit until they figured it out. After she left, the woman complained to my next bridesmaid about how my sister should have paid because the woman took the time to (poorly) curl her hair. No ones hair held and all had to redo their hair before the ceremony. Never been so dissappointed/angry with a salon.

I came to High Violet Salon and Spa as a part of a wedding party this past Saturday. We were scheduled to begin at 10:00 and finished by 1:30/2:00. There were 8 hair appointments and 7 makeup appointments to be completed during this time frame. Christine and Nichol were the only two ladies working at the time and the third person that as scheduled to work did not show. Christine said multiple times that she lives in Madison and traffic must be backed up. However, she was not making an effort to call or text the “unknown employee.” We are pretty positive that there was not a third person and didn’t want to have to turn away service because of the amount they would make with the large party.
