Pin and Tonic Salon is located in the lovely district known as Old Oakland, with many cafes, bars, and restaurants, as well as shopping located all around us. Parking is easy as there are five lots and metered parking. BART is two blocks away, as well as many bus stops. Every Friday there is a farmers market right outside our front door, which carries local produce from a variety of food vendors. Pretty unhappy that my cornrows were pulled so tight it caused blistering all around the nape of my heck, it burned and then scabbed. I was constantly oiling and trying to massage the area to loosen the hair which just made my hair snap.

With so many hair stylists around, it’s hard to find some that really understand your hair goals. Dinah is such a personable stylist. She really listens to my needs. I got an ash brown balayage and it turned out beautiful. It was a last minute decision but she was able to squeeze me in. Dinah provided a great expeience, I’ll definitely be coming back! For those that are wondering, she specializes in Asian hair, balayage, ombre and fun colors!

I could have done this type of haircut at home for free. It took 4 hours. The haircut was not at all what I expected. Plus she was really rough on my scalp. Once she saw her next appointment come in she rushed my haircut. I appreciate her making time for me but I didn’t really like my haircut. I cut hair too and the line up I got wasn’t even a line up.
