I go here every 2-3 months to get my hair braided because I work outside and I like to keep my natural hair neat. I also occasionally take my teen daughter here. The owner is very professional, and always on time. I have tried other African braiding shops in Garfield area, but the braiders are rude and make their own schedules which can be very inconvenient. I choose Bijoux Hair Braiding Salon, because she gets you in and out, she doesn’t braid really rough and careless, if she cannot do the style, she honest, and she have the best prices. I love this shop❤

I got my hair done here 2 or 3 yrs ago, they did a great job, I took 2 tylenols before I came that because I’m very tender headed, but I was very pleased with the end result. I brought my own hair, they wanted to use theirs I said no, but I had no issues. I’m not sure if the same people are there, I plan to go back.

The owner has been braiding my hair for months and I have all of my edges lol. I let her know to go easy on them and she does. Yes she braids tight as hell but my braids are ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL and they last long. She can imitate any style you show her on a picture. Even though she braids tight I always find myself falling asleep in her chair!

They told me $90 over the phone and while braiding they tried to charge extra $20. I had only 18 braids when they were done. I showed them the pictures and they did not make the braids the correct size and add the right amount of hair. The pictures I showed were styles with around 60 cornrows. When I tried paying them, they told me that they do not take credit cards and TOLD me I HAD TO leave my purse and keys in order to go to the atm right across the street. YOU CANNOT MAKE SOMEONE LEAVE THERE PURSE WITH YOU. I paid them the money and they looked at me funny for not tipping. After the way they treated me from the moment I sat in the chair, and styled my hair wrong, I was not tipping them for that. They acted like the style I requested was not achievable but I had photos.

My hair came out great. But the lady that was there was very rude to me. She got mad when I told her I wanted my braids to go to the center of my back. And then got mad cause I wanted my hair mixed. And charged me an extra 40$ cause I ran out of hair instead of just letting me run up the street to buy more. And then she kept stopping and texting and talking on her phone and to eat food. And when I told her I had to be at work in the next hour and a half she got even more mad. If they would have put there phones on silent and stopped taking so many breaks then it would have never taken so long. And once they were done doing my hair they got mad that I had a credit card and not cash she rolled her eyes and said I had to go over to the atm. They made me leave my Coat and purse and got mad when I put my coat on. I told her I’m going to leave my purse but I’m taking my coat cause it’s cold outside. And when I was walking back from the atm one of the lady’s was across the street waiting for me. She didn’t have to do all that and I had already left my purse inside. Yeah I don’t recommend this place for anyone. I feel like they only care about our money and not our hair.

My experience here was very poor. A few days after I got my hair braided my hair was broken to the scalp. There is now noticeable patches on my hair line from where the hair was broken off. There was one woman there who looked mean that was braiding my hair and she kept making comments of her not liking to braid short hair and braided tighter. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The beginning service was great but when I was getting my hair done the woman braiding my kept repeating “I don’t like short hair”, kept pulling my hair harder, and looked very mean and upset. I later found that my hair was broken off to the scalp where there are now a bald spots. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AS THE END RESULT WAS VERY POOR.
