Van is a awesome hair stylist. I had the same lady cut my hair for the last 30 years. When she retired I started calling around and decided to give Van a try. I’m so glad that I did. She is excellent! Van takes her time to make sure that everything is just the way I want it. From Monticello. Went in to have my hair bleached and colored. The lady bleached my hair and frowned as she took the foil off because her bleaching method did next to nothing to lighten my hair. Then she said well we can still try to dye it even though it might not show up. She had to ask another hairstylist how to mix the dye which was concerning. The end result was a barely noticeable hint of color in small parts of my hair. Yes she did warn us, and the lady even offered to try dying my hair again another day for no charge which was very nice. We still had to pay that day for the failed bleach though which was pretty upsetting since there was barely a change in the lightness of my hair. We took her offer and went in another day but we ended up LEAVING THE SALON because there was a lot of attitude going on and we just thought what she was saying was ridiculous. I’m not a karen by the way I’m a kind patient reasonable young adult who just wanted my hair dyed. I went to target the next day for bleach and dye and did my hair better than that lady. Moral of the story I am not sure how qualified you have to be in bleach and dying hair to work here. You may be rolling the dice. It all seemed like an experiment.
