George did such a wonderful job cutting my hair, putting in layers, and styling my hair for my brothers wedding. I enjoyed talking to him and the entire team at First Impressions. George had to color correct and tone it down. He also had to cut my hair to balance the cut as I had a hole in my prior cut that I did not see due to the thick hair. He also had to cut my hair to balance the cut as I had a hole in my prior cut that I did not see due to the thick hair. George worked his magic and fixed me up ! Now it’s a work in progress . I have been to several different hair salons and none have been able to truly satisfy me. I’m always apprehensive to change hair stylists, so needless to say I was nervous the day of my consultation at First Impression Studio. However, as soon as I walked in I was greeted and made felt at home and all my fears and doubts began to fade away. I loved the kind, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. My consultation was fantastic, from the beginning I could tell that George knew exactly how to approach my new hair makeover. What I wanted to do was nothing quick and simple. I wanted to dye my naturally dark brown hair to red, orange, and yellow, as well as cut my hair. George gave me several options and he was very considerate to keeping my hair as healthy as possible after the process. I counted down the days, minutes, seconds, till my hair appointment. George did an amazing job with my hair, I couldn’t have asked for a better result. I also liked how I didn’t even have to tell George the style I was going for, he knew right away from the pictures and he had more knowledge about the style than any other hair stylist I’ve been to. Other hair stylist have laughed at me, looked at me like I had three heads, and asked in a baffled manner, “WHAT THE HECK IS SCENE HAIR?”. I’m glad George understood me and was able to give me the hair color and hair cut I’ve been dreaming of for years! I would recommend First Impression Studio to anyone because they truly are knowledgeable of a variety of styles.

I recently moved back to NJ from living in LA for a few years. I had a hairdresser who I loved and trusted in LA so I was nervous about trying a new one. George was very welcoming and obviously very experienced. He made suggestions on the style and color and in the end gave me exactly what I wanted while putting his own style on it with what he knew would look best. In the end I was very comfortable and extremely happy with the result. It’s been about six weeks since my visit and I have yet to have a bad hair day. I will definitely be back!

Had my hair done by George today for the first time and loved it. He is amazing. He gives you his undivided attention and his knowledge base is crazy! The salon vibe is artsy (to match his creative talent) yet super down-to-earth. Trevor gave a great shampoo/rinse and is super friendly too. I arrived with fried, frizzy fine hair with nasty roots and a bad color and left with sleek, shiny gorgeous hair and stunning color! I was also educated on styling and caring for my hair to make it more healthy! So happy to have found George!!!!

I have been coloring my hair at high-end salons in New York, DC and San Francisco over the past 18 years and I can honestly say George is one of the best (if not the best) stylist I have ever seen. My hair color looks more natural and shiny, my color lasts longer and grows out beautifully between visits, and feels healthier because he doesn’t over process it. He gives me specific instructions on styling techniques for my hair type (he taught me how to curl my hair with a flat iron). I love the cut too! I highly recommend George for all your styling needs!
