This is only my first time getting my hair braided here, and my third time overall having braids. The experience was the best I have had. Only one person did my hair and she took less than five hours compared to the twelve hours that I’m used to. The only thing is that the braids are very tight. I just got them done a few hours ago, and my head hurts. I highly recommend some type of pain killer. I got box braids medium sized past my bra strap, and it only cost $150 with hair included. You get more than what you pay for at this place. Instead of going home to Connecticut every few months to get my hair braided, I can go twenty minutes from my university. I plan to only go to Mai Hair Braiding from now on.

The worst experience EVER. The minute I stepped in, I had to wait about 30 minutes for them to start because they were to busy eating. One of the women had an infant baby that would cry every two minutes that would cause so much delay in braiding. They told my mom that the hair the SHE BOUGHT was too cheap and that she would have to buy their own hair in order for the style to look good! And took my mom’s hair that she bought ( 5 packs) and used their own instead. I originally asked for my braids to be long but they insisted that I should get shorter braids so it would less time. It took about 7 hours in total and the price was $200 not to mention they said my hair was nappy and that I should stick to using a relaxer and almost tore off my hair when they were “blow-drying” it. Just Don’t Go There!!! Save your money!

Every time I go to this place I leave extremely satisfied. They do not braid tight and they take their time to make sure you are happy with the end results. I will not go to anyone else for my hair styles.

This place is very unprofessional. First of all I called to make an appointment the owner claimed she put me in the book and when I call the day before for a reminder she claimed my name is not in the book. I had to reschedule my appointment for the afternoon instead than when I went over there she was trying to discourage me of using my own hair that I brought so I could purchase her hair when I told her this is what I wanted done she was telling me I should do this and that .they were speaking French and I understood all the negativity stuff she was saying. That place is very unprofessional and I don’t suggest anyone going there because it’s a waist of time and money

First of all let me start off saying it was the worst service ever the two ladies was talking (very loud) the whole time yup the whole four hourS. She was talking so much that SPIT came out of her mouth and landing on my face. (it happen twice ) Then she had the nerve to put these big cornrows that she said is singles in my head. I’m very very upset about the service absolutely the WORST service save your money and go somewhere else and get your hair done okay. MAI HAIR BRAIDING WAS A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MY MONEY.

Excellent service giving here…I always get my hair done there… (when I first started going there I had dread and they retouched my dreads then, and started getting singles, braids, sew in weave, one of the girls name kadi even makes wigs… she had done some wigs for me..my kids get their hair braided by them. The people there are wonderful, friendly…. I promise you won’t regret your visit
