Just moved to Advance and decided to support the local barber. He had a customer in his chair, but no other clients. When I walked in, he totally ignored my presence — no hello, no welcome, no be with you in a minute. He didn’t even look at me, like I was invisible. The clincher for me is that he and his client talked about nothing except killing deer, bears, and other animals. After about 10 minutes I walked out without a word, and got the same in return. Maybe the silence was because I wasn’t a recognized local, but the shop lost out on a new customer.
