I have been going to Aveda One basically since they opened. I am really a fan of Aveda hair products and had a absolutely terrific stylist and colorist for years. She left and I started to use Tommy. He did one cut that was good so I figured that I would try highlights with him. I told him I liked a cool tone and disliked warmth especially with my coloring. The first highlights was OK although I think he didn’t get close enough to the roots & I had a lot of re growth. I had to come back sooner that usually since I had so much coming through and I thought the blonde didn’t have enough definition and may need some low lights interspersed to break up the chunk of blond. I thought ( & my bf sadly agrees) that Tommy’s second coloring one was AWFUL. I asked for low lights with blond highlights intermingled and he dissuaded me from that and wanted to do just more blonde high lights and a slightly darker toner. It seemed odd since the other was what I had been doing successfully for a long time. But, hey, he’s the expert and he seemed so confident and I was thinking- well, maybe this really will be better! NOT. He seems to be very good at listening to me but sometimes I felt like he was elsewhere and preoccupied especially when I kept talking about low lights- maybe he just didn’t agree and didn’t want to do that. Meantime, NOW, I have basically no blonde highlights(and spent all that money for blonde highlights) and my hair really now is a warm, light brown with some orangey tone on top. YIKES. It is not nice. I am not going back there for a correction. So if anyone out there has a great colorist for blonde high lights and low lights PLEASE offer a suggestion.

I get my haircut by Tommy and he is great! I have been to him about 4 times now and I am very picky when it comes to my hair. He fully knows what he is doing and he is also very fast compared to most stylists. I have long wavy thick hair and he blow dries my hair the best! My favorite blow dry I’ve ever had. It’s a little pricey but not out of the world expensive. Very reasonable for the quality. I can’t speak for the other stylists, but Tommy is great!

I had a haircut with Tommy a couple days ago and he was super nice I loved the cut. The place was really clean the staff was very sweet. If I had to say one thing tho, I had a late afternoon appt, which was no issue, I had asked for the soonest anyone was available and that’s what I was booked for. Sadly tho it meant I was the last person in the salon, and I completely understand the people left there probably want to go home, and boy oh boy did they make it known that they wanted to go home. Not five minutes passed without a “ how much longer?” 20 minutes?” 10 minutes?” and i get it I do. But honestly it made me kind of uncomfortable. I kind of wanted to stop the haircut wherever it was just so that this person could go home. which is not a feeling I really want to have at a hair appt.

A very unfortunate and horrible experience. We go to Aveda salons throughout the country and have never had such a bad experience as here. Even spoke to Sue the manager and was treated poorly and humiliated. Perhaps they were having an “off day” but it does not excuse a lack of basic customer service. They really hurt us. Hope no one else will be treated like this anywhere.
